My human is also always on the machine. I find that, if I bring him toy after toy he'll eventually come down to my level. Then, without hesitation, I hop into the recliner where the machine is and yell, 'sucka!'
It's a lot of fun...your mileage may vary.

When my mom is on the machine too long, I jump on her lap, then try to type myself by walking on the keyboard.
It usually gets her attention.
