Open Letter to Jacoby Ellsbury

Dear Jacoby,

The other night when you stole home plate, my mom was cheering, jumping around, and yelling HBO words. But when I steal snacks off the counter, or shoes out of the closet, she scolds me.

This is why I think we need to have a race. Once I can prove to Mom that I am as fast as you are, I'm sure she'll change her tune. Therefore, I am challenging you to a race around my back yard.

I look forward to hearing from you.

I think you should add:

"And my friend in feasting Stanislaw can consume dinner faster that you, and make better snorting sounds in the process."

It's all about speed, man. SPEED.

So what are you looking for Beckett? Equal Rights? Fairness? Equal Opportunity?

When is the last time you were in a restaurant, at the movies, invited to a wedding, told it was OK to do whatever the hyoomans were doing? I'll just let you think about that a while.

Stella is so thought-provoking!

One day us doggies will rise up and get equal rights and it will be OK when we get that last slice of bacon from mom's plate while she isn't looking!

ERAD rules!!!
(Equal rights amendment for doggies)

Dear Beckett,

We were about to commiserate with you about how humans can be applauded for things that we dogs get scolded for --- and then we scrolled down to your April 10 post and saw something that made my Mom and Dogdad very very very very unhappy when it happened.

They are St. Louis Cardinals fans. Need we say more?????

On the other paw, because Josh Beckett started his career with our Florida (now Miami) Marlins -- we do follow him and Mike Lowell and cheer their successes!!!

So I guess we have lots of things in common -- and a few we (at least) can try not to think about!!!

Wirey woofs,

Jake and Just Harry

Of course, or as Khyta would say, of khourse, we can (khan) be friends.

Our Dogdad graduated from Wash U (a hundred years ago) -- where did your mom go?

And our Mom, a Pencil Vainian, converted to the Cards from the Fillies when she married Dad.

But as you say: it's all about the game!!!

We bought them the MLB Baseball TV package so our nights and some afternoons are spent on the couch -- instead of long walkies or doggie playtime. But happy parents make for happy dogs -- to coin a phrase!!!

Woofs again,

Jake and Just Harry

OMD, this is the BEST idea, Beckett! Let me know when the big race is because I want to come and watch. I KNOW YOU WILL WIN! You're the fastest zoomer around.
