Beckett, Decorator Extraordinaire
Remember what my mom's craft room looked like a few days ago? It was a total mess. Time to whip Mom into shape.
Over the long weekend, I helped her clean.
I ran the labelmaker:

I looked at paint chips and selected a new color for the walls, then delegated the work to Mom while I took a nap:
And where did I take a nap? On the new beddingMom I found for the guest room:
Really pulls the room together, doesn't it?
I should get my own TV show, dontcha think?

Go Red Sox! Go Phyllies!
Interleague play starts tonight. Generally, we are not big fans of this but we are excited for the Red Sox to play the Mets, since Mom grew up going to Mets games.
And since the dreaded Yankees are playing Khyra's Phyllies, naturally we are also cheering (khyheering?) for the Phyllies!

Helping Mom sew
I help my Mom with lots of things. (Really, I'm not sure how she ever managed before I adopterated her.)
Today, I helped her sew.
She started making a smock a long time ago, but got discouraged when she tried it on and it was too small. But a few days ago she was cleaning out the craft room and found the almost-finished smock and tried it on again and now it fit! So today she decided to finish it by putting bias tape along the back, neck and armholes.
Here's the finished smock (well, it still needs a snap at the neck but Mom can't seem to find those in the M-E-S-S that is the craft room):
And here's a picture of BOTH of us:

Seasonal allergies & suspensions
Where we live, there is lots of itch-inducing stuff called Pollen that floats around in the air before sticking to Mom's car and making it yellow. I am an allergy-prone pup, and this time of year tends to make my skin turn bright pink and sometimes I even get hot spots from being so itchy.
It's so bad that I've decided I like baths! I don't like the soaking or the rinsing, but the lathering with my special anti-itch shampoo feels so good, and I feel much less itchy when it's over.
Recently Mom found two hot spots on me, so she had to clean them off and now she's always spraying me with this stupid spray stuff. It makes them heal and feel better, but told me it's a steroid. I sure hope I don't get suspended for 50 games, like that Manny Ramirez guy. 50 GAMES?!?! That's like a TWO-HOUR suspension. How could I survive that?!?

Super Saturday
OMDOG Saturdays are the best day of the week. You might say, "Beckett, you're a dog. All days are the weekend for you," and you would have a point, but Saturdays are the best day because Mom takes me to the Farmer's Market downtown.
This is awesome because first I get to ride in that funnerest car. At red lights I like to look at the people in cars next to me and let them admire me. Then downtown I get to sniff new, interesting places, walk around a lot, and see lots of people and human pups who admire me.
After Mom does that boring shopping we go over to another park nearby to see my fan club. A lot of the guys in my fan club are from the shelter like me, but are still waiting for their furever homes. They really dig spending time with me. One man said it was the most normal he'd felt in a long time, to sit there scritching me behind the ears.
On the way home Mom stopped and got that funnerest car washed by a bunch kids who were so excited to see us. Mom says it was because they'd been having a very slow car wash, but I know it was really because I was in the car.
I was the tiredest from all the excitement and have been taking lots of naps this afternoon. I love Saturdays!!!

Tunnels
This was my tunnel:
I worked hard on my tunnel. It was a work of art, an engineering marvel!
Last weekend, my Grandpa came to visit. We had lots of fun but somehow THIS happened to my tunnel:
Mom says it took 440 pounds of concrete to fill in my tunnel. However, while she and Grandpa were working on that, I had a breakthrough while thinking about tunneling, and that evening I tried a new method: tunneling PERPENDICULAR to the fence. Mom was cooking dinner and the doorbell rang, and there I was with my buddy the neighbor! Boy, was my mom surprised!
Unfortunately, that tunnel now looks like this:
D'oh!
