Diplomacy & Resolutions

Some of you asked how the C-A-T and I are getting along. Well, I'm not sure if this is good news or not, but Mehitabel is no longer the least bit intimidated by me. She still doesn't want to play as much as I do, but she certainly walks around MY house like she owns the place.

For some reason, Mom says I have to SHARE with her. Even the big bed! So I thought I would show you this diagram of the results of several rounds of diplomatic meetings between me and Mehitabel.

(Click to embiggen)

As you can see, dog and cat are living together in something almost like harmony. Mom keeps muttering something about this being a sign of the Apoopcalypse, whatever that is.

Did any of you make resolutions for the new year? I didn't, because honestly how could I possibly improve my life, but here are my mom's:

I'm pretty sure I can help her do more of all of those this year!

It sure looks like you have the bed situation under control, Beckett.

Happy New Year!

Wow, Beckett! You are doing very well with that cat. It took me more than a year to share Mom's bed with Ali Z. Mom was so excited she took a picture of us.

Does Mehitabel have claws? Ali Z was declawed by her first family and I think that is why she was so scared of me for so long. Even cats need a little defense system.

Happy New Year, Beckett and family!

Hi, Beckett!
Glad you are getting along much better with Mehitabel!
Your diagram looks familiar to me... except for Mehitabel's spot!
Kisses and hugs

Man are you generous to share your big bed with a human AND a CAT. You are a gentleman and a scholar my buddy.

I think those are good resolutions for sure.

Well, we don't share a bed with a cat (our hu-dad is shaking his head at the mere thought), but we think you are giving your human entirely too much space. We let ours have a corner. On good nights.
